Review Standard Booking Conditions: Cancellation Policy

Should a Future Travel Voucher not work for you, you can cancel with the standard cancellation terms as outlined in the Booking Conditions. Depending on the date that you notified us of your decision to cancel your tour, you may be entitled to a refund from EF. If you purchased insurance, you may be able to make an insurance claim.

Cancellation Policy

“The cancellation policies outlined below take into consideration the costs EF incurs long before groups ever depart. Notice of cancellation from an EF tour will only be accepted from the traveller, his or her legal guardian, or Group Leader. The date of cancellation is determined by the date on which EF receives notice. Cancellation refunds can only be made to the person whose name appears on the account; monies cannot be transferred to another account. See Booking Conditions for policies surrounding what happens if EF has to cancel, modify, or postpone a tour.

EF’s standard cancellation policy:

  • 150 days or more before departure: Full refund less the $199 non-refundable deposit, all non-refundable fees, and a $400 cancellation fee
  • 149 to 110 days before departure: Full refund less the $199 non-refundable deposit, all non-refundable fees, and a $600 cancellation fee
  • 109 to 45 days before departure: Full refund less the $199 non-refundable deposit, all non-refundable fees, and 50% of program price
  • 44 days or less before departure: No refund will be issued”

Receiving a Future Travel Voucher

Travellers choosing to cancel from a 2020 or 2021 tour may elect to receive an EF Future Travel Voucher for all monies paid, including the $199 non-refundable deposit and less other non-refundable fees. See the “Peace of Mind” section for more information.

Requesting a Refund

Travellers should expect to receive a refund approximately 4–6 weeks after it is requested. Instructions on how to request a refund are located on the Future Travel Voucher, which can be found on the traveller secure site.
